he world of telecommunications standards is becoming more complex because of the large number of national, regional and international standards bodies. Often the activities of these organizations are overlapping and/or conflicting. There is also pressure to improve the standard making processes to provide standards on a timely basis. Trying to keep up with the standards, rules, regulations and certification procedures being developed, changes taking place and status of standards can be a difficult and time consuming task. In addition, the identification and acquisition of standards on a timely basis can be frustrating.
